Hi, I'm Rowena, and artist, illustrator and writer. I'm here because Felicity approached me to use a picture of mine in "Emmeline's Empire". I was excited at the idea and to cut a fairly short story shorter, one of my pictures is in the story. I won't say more in case it's a surprise... I have been working as an artist since, well as long as I can remember starting with loving to draw, winning a moderately regular income (for a kid) from what was once an exciting children's page in a Sunday paper, having the privilege of illustrating a children's novel when I was just out of school, going to art school, and then continuing to work as an artist, illustrator, and writer ever since. Two of my novels for young readers are published by IFWG Australia, a small Melbourne-based publisher: Sealskin Coast, for readers from 8 years to adult is an adventure story weaving together the legend of the selkies or seal-people of Scottish and Irish coasts and what starts as an ordinary life for Wallace, the main character; and "Drums and Power Lines", an alternate world/ adventure story where the main character finds himself in a similar but different world, for readers from about 12 to adult. Both are cracking good yarns and if you want to stalk them Drums and Power Lines is here and Sealskin Coast is here. ifwgaustralia.com/title-drums-and-power-lines/ifwgaustralia.com/title-sealskin-coast/

Was that the Canberra TImes's Sunday section? I forget what it was called but I had many a poem published there in my youth.
